INTRODUCING PILGRIMS
Introducing the pilgrims capsule, a hoodie and sweatshirt pair in two colours: ivory and blue, featuring bold green art by our co-founder Osione Itegboje. The art shows a group of pilgrims walking towards a large sweeping sky and sun burst.
We are all pilgrims walking towards brighter futures. We collaborate and work with brands and creatives who are channeling their energies to solve many of the world’s big and small challenges from more conscious manufacturing to preserving heritage crafts or just simply doing what it takes to make ends meet amidst difficult economies and conflict situations. We celebrate these dreamers and doers — pilgrims — who get up and go, certain that the unseen future is infinitely brighter than today’s hardships.
For our first foray outside of Funtua cotton, we wanted to explore the boundaries of a sustainable cotton value chain and chose to work with Everbody.world who since 2016 have diverted over 640,000 lbs of cotton waste from landfill into mindful basics.
Each piece is made from World-first 100% Reclaimed Waste Cotton jersey and fleece through a responsible hyperlocal supply chain in Los Angeles. This post-industrial cotton blend contains no synthetic fibers or microplastics, and no virgin raw materials and is cut, sewn, dyed and printed in fair-wage factories in Los Angeles.
The hoodies and sweatshirts are available in natural ivory and a custom-dyed blue with a slight vintage fade. They are then finally hand-stitched with the THIS IS US™ logo in green by London based embroidery artist, Heather Gomm.
As we get into the holiday season we’re grateful for our community of conscious creatives who inspire us with their individual journeys to keep dreaming.
