THIS IS US, a homegrown fashion and lifestyle brand, is thrilled to announce a first-of-its-kind collaboration with FUJI: A OPERA, one of London's most anticipated music exhibitions this summer. The collaboration brings together the worlds of art, music, and fashion in a one-of-a-kind celebration of creativity and culture.
From August 18 to August 28, 2023, The Africa Centre in London will host FUJI: A Opera, a multi-dimensional exhibition that tells the story of Nigeria's most important music genre, fuji. The exhibition will feature never-before-seen archive footage and artefacts.
FUJI: A OPERA has long been known for its captivating expressions of the iconic music genre FUJI, and THIS IS US is also known for pushing the boundaries of contemporary design and artistic expression.
"We are thrilled to be working with FUJI: A Opera on this one-of-a-kind project," said Osione Itegboje, Co-Founder and Art Director at THIS IS US. "Music has always been a major source of inspiration for our brand, and we see this as an excellent opportunity to combine our creative vision with the rich history of legendary musicians on display in the exhibition."
"The inspiration for this limited-edition line of goods came from a desire to create something that celebrates the history of Fuji, Nigeria's faaji vibes, and London's rich cultural diversity." The colour red, as well as the iconic Fuji logo, are frequently used. This boldly fuses Fuji vibes with London's unstoppable spirit." Osione said.
The merchandise store will sell limited-edition items such as t-shirts, hoodies, and totes. There will also be novelty items like dolls and funky sunglasses, as well as fan favourites from friends like DYE LAB. Each item has been chosen with care and is intended to be a one-of-a-kind keepsake for music fans and fashionistas alike.
To start this campaign, three mystery products:
